Abstract

Marketing Exhibition - Dharshayati organised by Marketing Mavericks (Marketing club of MPBIM) on Sustainable Packaging, was a dynamic event that brought together industry leaders, innovators, and eco-conscious consumers to explore cutting-edge solutions for reducing environmental impact through packaging. The exhibition showcased a diverse range of sustainable materials, including, compostable alternatives, recycled paper, and reusable packaging innovations. Leading brands presented their commitment to sustainability by unveiling eco-friendly packaging designs that minimize waste and carbon footprints. Startups and entrepreneurs demonstrated groundbreaking solutions such as edible packaging, plant-based materials, and refillable packaging concepts that promote a circular economy. Informative panel discussions featured experts who highlighted the urgent need for reducing single-use plastics, implementing effective recycling systems, and encouraging responsible consumer behaviour. Attendees had the opportunity to interact with exhibitors, experience hands-on demonstrations, and engage in workshops focused on sustainable packaging innovations. The exhibition also underscored the importance of reducing packaging waste at the source through innovative design and material selection. The event was a testament to the growing shift in the industry towards reducing environmental footprints while maintaining packaging efficiency. Attendees left with valuable insights into how they could contribute to sustainability efforts through responsible packaging choices. The exhibition had eleven teams Nutergy Bites, Ethical Threads, Ecosutra, Ecohug, Eco shaddi pack, second nature, Mesh Bags, Nature Bite, Jute Bags, Petal Pure and shana Kriti. The runners up were won by Ethical Threads and winners were Eco shaddi pack. The event was judged by Dr. Basanna Patagundi, Director, Center for Sustainability and Executive Education at Cambridge Institute of Technology and co-founder of Mundociclo Private Limited, Bengaluru and Prof. Karthik S N, Senior Manager, Strategic Partnership Group, Cognizant, Bengaluru. The event was coordinated by Dr. Sumithra Sreenath and Dr. Karpagam B N. The exhibition successfully reinforced the critical role of sustainable packaging in reducing environmental impact and driving global sustainability efforts. It highlighted the power of collaboration and innovation in shaping a greener future for packaging solutions.
