Class Activity : Mock Panel Interview

Abstract

The Human Capital Management course at M. P. Birla Institute of Management (MPBIM), under the guidance of Dr. Karpagam B. A., successfully organized a Mock Panel Interview for second semester MBA students, offering them a realistic and enriching experience of the corporate recruitment process. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and was conducted in three challenging rounds. The General Interview round featured 18 participants, from which Shashank, Ketan, Nidhi, Yashaswini, Dileep, and Abhiram advanced to the Group Discussion on the topic, "Is Gen Z Changing the Workplace for the Better?" Based on their performance, Shashank, Yashaswini, Nidhi, and Ketan progressed to the Stress Interview, where their critical thinking, decision making, and ability to perform under pressure were evaluated. The interview panel comprised Yogish (Business Analytics), Amruth and Shreevatsa (Finance), Bhuvan (Human Resources), Byresh (Marketing), and Aditya (Behavioural), who challenged participants with insightful questions while providing valuable feedback and industry perspectives. Demonstrating exceptional confidence, communication, and problem solving abilities across all three rounds, Shashank emerged as the winner of the competition. The Mock Panel Interview served as an excellent platform for students to strengthen their interview skills, enhance their professional confidence, and gain first hand exposure to real world recruitment practices, reinforcing MPBIM's commitment to developing industry ready management professionals.
