Industrial Visit BEML Limited

Abstract

On 25 July 2026, for 2nd Semester MBA students, visited BEML manufacturing facility at New Tippasandra, Bengaluru, as part of an industrial exposure programme. The visit provided students with valuable insights into India's advanced manufacturing capabilities and the nation's "Make in India” (Atma Nirbhar Bharath) initiative. During the visit, students observed the manufacturing processes involved in the production of Metro Rail Coaches and Vande Bharat train coaches. BEML officials explained the various stages of coach manufacturing, including design, fabrication, assembly, quality control, and testing. The students gained first-hand knowledge of modern production techniques, automation, precision engineering, and stringent quality standards followed in the railway manufacturing sector. The industrial visit bridged the gap between classroom learning and industrial practice by exposing students to real-world manufacturing operations, supply chain management, and technological innovations. It also enhanced their understanding of India's growing capabilities in transportation infrastructure and indigenous manufacturing.
