Finsight-2026 Financial Analyst Hackthone

Abstract

One of the strongest indicators of leadership is not how well you perform, but how effectively you enable others to perform. At M P Birla Institute of Management (MPBIM), we witnessed exactly that through FinSight 2026 – Financial Analyst Hackathon-Turning Data into Decisions, an initiative of Wealth Wizards – The Finance Club in association with IQAC. FinSight was conceived with a purpose that extended beyond building dashboards or presenting financial data. It was peer coaching in action. It was leadership through knowledge sharing. It was learning by teaching. While participants built interactive financial dashboards using Power BI and transformed financial data into meaningful business insights, the true success of the event lay in how the learning happened. Under the guidance of Dr Pushpa B. V., Faculty Coordinator, Wealth Wizards – The Finance Club, our senior MBA students, Poorvika, Deepika, Nikitha, and Vijetha, took ownership of the entire learning journey. They conceptualised the Hackathon, designed the learning modules, trained their junior peers in financial dashboarding and business intelligence tools, mentored them throughout the competition, and guided them in translating data into actionable managerial insights. In doing so, they moved beyond being participants; they became peer coaches, mentors, facilitators, and leaders. For the junior students, the experience extended was equally enriching. They learned not only how to build interactive dashboards but, more importantly, how to identify meaningful financial KPIs, interpret business performance, and communicate analytical findings with confidence. This is the essence of management education. This is what management education should strive for. Our sincere appreciation to our distinguished industry judges, Ms. Aishwarya (Sony India Software Centre) and Ms. Chaithra (ANZ – Derivatives Team), who not only evaluated the teams but also shared valuable industry perspectives, encouraging students to connect classroom learning with real-world business expectations. At MPBIM, we believe that meaningful learning happens when students are empowered to teach, mentor, and inspire one another. FinSight 2026 exemplifies our belief that the most enduring learning experiences are created when students empower one another to learn, grow, and succeed. Because the best leaders don't just solve problems, they empower others to solve them.
